Lightroom gives you everything you need to edit, organize, store, and share your photos across any device. By using Lightroom, you also have the opportunity to be a part of the Lightroom community — a safe, inclusive and supportive community with a diverse set of skills, interests, and identities that is dedicated to learning and sharing photographic expression.
Whether you’re a budding photo expressionist with a mobile phone, a seasoned hobbyist passionate about photography, a working professional or just interested in editing your favorite photos, we encourage everyone to share their unique styles and continue to grow their skills by learning from each other. You’ll also find an abundance of tutorial content to further your skills, regardless of experience level. We regularly feature authors, images, and edits from the community that embody the positive healthy qualities we strive for. You can also learn more about how we feature images and edits in Lightroom Community and Lightroom Academy by visiting the How to Get Featured page.
Our Community Guidelines (“Guidelines”) lay out the rules of the road for using Lightroom’s community platform to maintain an engaging and trustworthy community that fosters creativity. These Guidelines govern your use of Lightroom and the Lightroom community platform, and are incorporated by reference into the Adobe General Terms of Use. When using this community platform, including submitting your images through Lightroom Community, you’re also granting Adobe and other photographers the right to share your content via various Lightroom only channels, such as the Lightroom Community feed and Lightroom Academy, for the purpose of educating the greater Lightroom community.
The Lightroom Community feed is a public forum. If you share your content to the Lightroom Community feed, you will make the content publicly available to all users, including users without an Adobe ID. For any photo that you share to the Lightroom Community feed, other users may download and save a preset of the edit settings of your photo, if you choose to allow it. In this case, your settings may also be suggested to other users via the Recommended Presets feature. By using the Remix feature, also available in Lightroom Community, you can allow other users to suggest alternate edits for your photo. Any photos that you share to the Lightroom Community feed will always be credited to you, and you retain ownership of your photos. Adobe may use your content shared to the Lightroom Community feed in any way in order to improve our products and services.
Unless otherwise noted in the Guidelines, the same rules apply to all content across the Lightroom community. If you come across content that violates these Guidelines, please follow the instructions in the “Report Abuse” section below. We take these Guidelines to heart and hope that you’ll do the same as well.
Lightroom is a space to express your creativity, learn from others, and share your knowledge with a global community. To protect our users and maintain the quality of the content in this community, we don’t allow mature, abusive, or illegal content or behavior. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Please note that we may report any material exploiting minors to the National Center of Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline.
We believe everyone is capable of photographic expression and we want to see your work shine! Please share Lightroom posts in an encouraging, respectful, and constructive way.
This is a community for everyone to bring their authentic self and to publicly share your own creative work.
We disable accounts that engage in behavior that undermines the authenticity of our community, including but not limited to, the following deceptive, harmful behaviors:
Uploading other people’s work as if it is your own is copyright infringement and is not tolerated. If you aren’t sure whether your use of someone else’s content or trademark in your own work is legal, you can speak with an attorney or consult publicly available reference materials at the following:
To report the misuse of your own creative work or trademark by one of our users, please complete the Reporting Infringement on Adobe’s Network form. If you have a contract or other dispute with a Lightroom user regarding content they have uploaded to our site, please resolve the issue directly with the user. We can’t moderate contract, employment, or other disputes between our users and the public.
If at any time you believe a contributor or their content violates the Community Guidelines, please report it within the Lightroom app by tapping the More Options icon (ellipses) next to the photo and selecting “Report Abuse”. If you have any further issues, please send additional details to abuse@adobe.com.
To avoid unwanted interactions in Lightroom Community, you can block profiles by following the simple steps in our blocking article. Know that when someone is blocked in Lightroom Community, you’re also blocking their profile across all Adobe products with community features (such as Behance).
We may take down content that violates these Guidelines and we reserve the right to take further action on your Adobe account. For more information about what you can and can’t do on our platform, please refer to Adobe’s Terms of Use. Additionally, you can find further details and answers to frequently asked questions on Lightroom’s community features, such as Remix and Recommended Presets, on our HelpX page.
Thank you for using Adobe Lightroom! Together, we can create a community that inspires and teaches one another.
