Crow on Japanese Pine: Making a Classic Square Black-and-White Fine Art Image

Take a regular horizontal image and crop to a square to focus in on the key elements: the curve of the branches and the peacefully sitting crow; the image is almost monochromatic to begin with and so it's well suited to a black-and-white conversion.
